Talentines: Aurally Fixated Drum n Space by talentines
I blame my fondness for this genre of music on my formative years in which I had a fascination with:
1. Planetariums
2. The Goodyear blimp
3. Close Encounters of the Third Kind (ok, and Spock from Star Trek)
and
4. Low frequency sound which could reach out and give you a back rub
(when you hear some of this stuff you'll understand... or maybe you already do... if you do, we'll need to discuss)
This playlist is intended for the types who can enjoy the 30-second lead in which bears no resemblance to the rest of the track, the weird sci-fi samples, and the bass intended to homogenize you.
This list could also be known as "Music for a darkened planetarium" or "Music for a cow pasture at midnight while you're lucky enough to see the Leonids showers"...
(don't knock it until you've tried it - sitting, shivering, in a desolate field watching something absolutely spectacular accompanied by a soundtrack which could only be described as "other worldly"...)
Good times.
