finetune artist: Hinder

US rock band formed in 2001 by Austin Winkler (vocals), Joe Garvey (guitar) and Cody Hanson (drums). A number of other musicians passed through the band during the first two years of their existence, before a settled line-up took shape with the addition of Mark King (rhythm guitar) and Mike Rodden (bass). By now the quintet had built up a strong reputation on the local circuit, and their debut EP sold very well for an independent release. A recording contract with Universal Motown followed, with the band entering the studio with producer and co-writer Brian Howes to complete work on tracks for their debut album. Released at the end of 2005, Extreme Behavior received a number of disparaging reviews from rock critics not entirely enamoured of Hinder's post-grunge riffing and blatantly sexist lyrics. Nevertheless, the endearingly dumb "Get Stoned" and "Lips Of An Angel" enjoyed major success on national radio and the US charts, and the album quickly chalked up platinum status.
