Shout Out Louds
This Stockholm, Sweden-based indie pop quintet was founded in 2001 by graphic designers Adam Olenius (b. 1979, Stockholm, Sweden; guitar/vocals) and Carl von Arbin (b. 1979, Stockholm, Sweden; guitar), and film student, Ted Malmros (b. 1981, Stockholm, Sweden; bass). Bebban Stenborg (b. 27 June 1979, Stockholm, Sweden; keyboards/vocals) and Eric Edman (b. 26 October 1979, Stockholm, Sweden; drums) were recruited soon afterwards and the band initially called itself Luca Brasi until it emerged that there was a German hardcore punk act of the same name. Olenius taught Malmros how to play the bass guitar after their conversation at a party had led them to the idea of starting a band. Their first gig was as a quintet in February 2002 at a Stockholm jazz club. Stenborg joined soon afterwards as the band realised that a Moog synthesiser was becoming central to their Wannadies-inspired sound and that a permanent player was required.
