Steve Stevens
Steve Stevens first attracted attention as lead guitarist in Billy Idol's band, where his flash and fiery style brought Idol's hard rock to life. Stevens also accompanied Michael Jackson on "Dirty Diana" and has worked with Ric Ocasek of the Cars, Steve Lukather of Toto and the Thompson Twins. He broke ranks from Idol's band in 1988 to form Steve Steven's Atomic Playboys with vocalist Perry McCarty, drummer Thommy Price and keyboard player Phil Ashley. Released in 1989, their self-titled debut was a major disappointment. With the exception of the title-cut, the songs were derivative and overtly commercial. Following an unsuccessful US club tour in 1990, the band split up.
