Miss Kittin
b. Caroline Herv, 1973, Grenoble, France. A former contemporary and graphic arts student, Herv elected to concentrate on her other passion, music, in the early 90s. She spent a couple of years raving before performing her first set in 1994, and before long was a regular at Tekmics' Dragon Ball parties in her native southern France, playing hard-edged techno and electro. She moved to Geneva, Switzerland in 1996 where she joined the Mental Groove Records crew and contributed tracks to mix compilations. Herve then teamed up with hardcore DJ The Hacker (b. Michael Amato, France) to record as Miss Kittin And The Hacker for the International DeeJay Gigolo label. The duo made their debut in July 1998 with the Champagne EP, which included the notorious "Frank Sinatra". First Album, released in October 2001, perfected the duo's musical blueprint, a mix of techno, Eurodisco and new wave pop styles topped off by Herv's deadpan vocals. A mix album followed two months later, while Herv also appeared as a guest vocalist on Felix Da Housecat's Kittenz And Thee Glitz and Golden Boy's Ladomat 2000. After the release of another mix album, Miss Kittin teamed up with Berlin-based producers Tobi Neumann and Thies Mynther to record her solo debut I Com.
