Kathy Kosins
b. Detroit, Michigan, USA. In the early 80s Kosins' name began appearing as a singer with and arranger for backing groups on several recording sessions. Meanwhile she was busy writing songs and, eager to promote her compositions, she made demos of some of them but soon found that record companies were more interested in her voice. Even so, over the years she has won awards as a songwriter from ASCAP. Working mainly in contemporary pop, she gradually migrated through R&B into jazz. She appeared with artists such as the pop band Was (Not Was), and jazz drummer and bandleader J.C. Heard.
