Misty In Roots
Misty In Roots are one of Britain's foremost roots reggae groups. The band was formed in 1974 in Southall, Middlesex, by brothers Walford (lead vocals) and Delvin "Duxie" Tyson (rhythm guitar/vocals), with other regular members including Delbert McKay (guitar/vocals), Chesley Sampson (lead guitar), Tony Henry (bass) and Dennis Augustin (rhythm guitar), who took over Delvin's role on the instrument when he elected to concentrate on vocal duties. Samson was replaced by Lawrence Crossfield in 1983, though this represented the most serious of numerous line-up revisions. Through eight John Peel Radio 1 sessions (he numbered them among his favourite acts for several years in the early 80s) they exhibited radically different line-ups for each, happily adding and subtracting musicians and vocalists as the occasion demanded.
