The Doobie Brothers
One of the most commercially successful rock/pop bands of the 1970s, the Doobies evolved from a roots-influenced, post-hippie West Coast rock outfit with dazzling guitar work into a pop-conscious, keyboard-dominated ensemble tinged with R&B and fronted by the distinctive, soulful vocals of Michael McDonald. Though they found their greatest chart success with McDonald, the band's early recordings with singer Tom Johnston produced some impressive hits as well ("Long Train Running," "Without Love," "Black Water").

My favorite work from them is and always will be "What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits". Which I believe it to be their best work ever. Even if "Black Water" would have left off this great composition. -

My very favorite group of all time. Although I've never seen them live, only on video tapes. I did however fall in love with Tom Johnston's 2 vinyl recordings. -

I also call this group "Band Of Brothers". Formed by some good friends and war veterans, they all came together to create one of the most outstanding and long-lasting musical acts in history. Doobie Brothers have always been "Rockin Down the Highway" and "Takin It To The Streets". I saw them live once, and "Take Me In Your Arms" made me cry when it touched me. The Doobies are great and continue to grow in amazing popularity! -
