Keith Anderson
b. Ozark Mountains, Miami, Oklahoma, USA. Singer-songwriter Anderson attracted as much attention for his bodybuilder's physique and good looks as his performing ability when he broke into the country charts in 2005. Raised in rural Oklahoma, Anderson was destined for a professional baseball career before a serious shoulder injury ended his sporting prospects. He worked as an engineer before moving to Dallas to cultivate his nascent singing career. After taking minor steps into the industry as a jingle writer he relocated to the capital of country music, Nashville, Tennessee, to further his prospects. Anderson teamed up with professional songwriter George Ducas for a number of writing sessions before making a major impact in his own right when Garth Brooks and George Jones recorded his "Beer Run" in 2001. He also built up a large fanbase with energetic live performances and a series of self-marketed CD releases through his own website. A major label recording contract was not long in coming as Anderson signed to Arista Nashville and began work on his debut album. John Rich of Big And Rich co-wrote three songs and produced the title track on Three Chord Country And American Rock & Roll, a disappointingly formulaic collection released in summer 2005.
