finetune artist: Schubert

Formed in Austria in 1987, soft rock band Schubert quickly rose to become their country's dominant musical force in that genre. Comprising ex-No Bros members Klaus Schubert (guitars) and Nikki P. Opperer (keyboards), plus ex-UB vocalist Lem Enzinger, their Bon Jovi-styled big ballads and up-tempo rockers were effectively realized on half a dozen domestic albums that assailed the Austrian charts. They made their pan-European debut in 1995 with Toilet Songs, so called to reflect their disillusionment at the world in general. The opening song, "Reflections Of The Past", was the surprise in an otherwise seamless parade of AOR songs, with a distinctive industrial metal feel, but elsewhere it was business as usual. With Opperer's Hammond organ leading from the front, many critics detected an open debt to the Uriah Heep model of the mid-70s.
