US post-hardcore band formed at the start of 2003 by Justin Shekoski (b. 11 June 1983, USA; guitar/vocals, ex-As Hope Dies) and Beau Burchell (b. USA; guitar), two musicians based in Newport Beach, California. Joined by vocalist Anthony Green, bass player Zach Kennedy (a former colleague of Burchell in Open Hand) and session drummer Pat McGrath they recorded the EP Translating The Name. A powerful fusion of screamo and melodic hardcore the EP was a notable Internet success and attracted record company interest, despite the band having yet to play live. A number of personnel changes ensued, with Chris Sorenson replacing Kennedy and Alex Rodr¡guez (b. 16 March 1978, Miami, Florida, USA, and another Open Hand alumnus) joining as the band's permanent drummer.
