Emery
US melodic hardcore band formed in 2001 by Toby Morrell (vocals/guitar), Matt Carter (guitar/vocals) and Joel Green (bass). The members first met while studying in South Carolina and after completing their education opted to make music a full-time career. After forming Emery they relocated to Seattle and quickly established a foothold on the city's live circuit with a line-up now incorporating Devin Shelton (guitar/vocals), Josh Head (keyboards) and Seth Studley (drums). Their highly commercial fusion of emocore and melodic alt pop attracted the attention of the Seattle independent Tooth & Nail label, which teamed the band up with producer Ed Rose to work on their debut album. Released at the start of 2004, The Weak's End proved to be something of a sleeper hit, with critical acclaim and the band's non-stop touring schedule helping boost sales over the 50,000 mark by the end of the year.
