Dark Lotus
Formed by recording artists on the Psychopathic Records label, the original line-up of this horrorcore group featured rappers Violent J (b. Joseph Frank Bruce, 28 April 1972, Berkley, Michigan, USA) and Shaggy 2 Dope (b. Joseph William Utsler, 14 October 1974, Wayne, Michigan, USA) of Insane Clown Posse (co-founders of Psychopathic) and Jamie Madrox (b. James Spaniolo, 5 November 1975, Warren, Michigan, USA) and Monoxide Child (b. Paul Robert Methric, 14 July 1973, Eastpointe, Michigan, USA) of Twiztid. The quartet recorded the single "Echoside' before adding rapper Marz (b. Zlatko Hukic, Chicago, Illinois, USA) to the line-up and completing the 2001"s Tales From The Lotus Pod. The album differed little from Insane Clown Posse's musical blueprint, an ear-shattering mixture of hardcore rap and heavy metal, and a lyrical obsession with the occult.
