Dan Hicks
b. 9 December 1941, Little Rock, Arkansas, USA, but grew up in California. A former folk musician and a graduate of San Francisco State College, Hicks joined the Charlatans in 1965, replacing original drummer Sam Linde. This trailblazing band is credited with pioneering the 60s San Francisco sound, although they sadly failed to reap due commercial rewards.
