Cássia Rejane Eller (Rio de Janeiro, December 10, 1962-Rio de Janeiro, December 29, 2001) was a singer and guitarist of the Brazilian rock of the nineties. Characterized by his voice serious and his musical eclecticism, interpreted songs of great composers of Brazilian rock, as Cazuza, Renato Russo, and the MPB artists like Caetano Veloso and Chico Buarque, through pop, Nando Reis and unusual, and Arrigo Barnabé Wally Solomon, to sambas of Riachão and rocks classics of Jimi Hendrix, Mutantes, Beatles and Nirvana. Had a very varied musical trajectory, however short, with something around for ten albums themselves in the course of 12 years of career. With a stage presence of very intense, Cássia Eller took its preference for albums recorded live and was constantly asked for shares and special interpretations ordered. Another important feature is the fact that it has only two songs composed of what recorded - "Eles" and O Marginal, or assuming a posture of interpreter declared. Remember that it reached a record two albums in homage to Cazuza. He was gay and lived with his partner Maria Eugênia Vieira Martins, which created the child Francisco. He had major problems with alcohol and drugs. He died on December 29, 2001 by stopping cardiorespiratory, possibly caused by stress. The chance of overdose as the cause of his death, appointed initially, has been discarded by the findings of the expert Legal Medical Institute of Rio de Janeiro. It was then pointed death by medical error, but the investigation was filed by prosecutors. -
