American Head Charge
The success of hard rock bands such as Korn during the late 90s helped open the door for countless other angst-ridden, similarly styled outfits by the dawn of the next century, including American Head Charge. Yet another in a long line of hardcore industrial metal acts, the band's leaders, Mr. H.C. Banks III (b. Chad Hanks, Los Angeles, California, USA; bass/programming) and Martin Cock (b. Cameron Heacock, 28 December 1977, San Francisco, California, USA; vocals, guitar, programming), first met during the late 90s, when each were in a rehabilitation centre in Minneapolis. After their release from the facility, the duo poured all their energy into forming a band, and although they had to endure countless line-up changes, American Head Charge eventually built up a large local following in Minneapolis, which led to opening gigs for Type O Negative, Slipknot, Powerman 5000, and System Of A Down, and the release of 1999's Trepanation. The independently released album featured Hanks, Heacock, David Rogers (b. 3 August 1974, Maplewood, Indiana, USA; guitar), Christopher Emery (b. 22 November 1972, Bedford, Indiana, USA; keyboards/samples), and Peter Harmon (drums).
