Tech N9NE
b. Aaron Dontez Yates, 8 November 1971, Kansas City, Missouri, USA. A leading light on the Midwest underground rap scene, Tech N9ne has been pursuing his singular path for the best part of the early 00s with little mainstream recognition. Although he has divulged little about his upbringing, the young Aaron Yates first appeared on the Kansas City scene as a member of NNUTT HOWZE. During the mid-90s he also performed with the 57th Street Rogue Dog before launching a solo career at the end of the decade. A series of independent releases gave an early indication of his talent but were hampered by poor production and limited distribution.
