Bonnie Bramlett
b. Bonnie Lynn O'Farrell, 8 November 1944, Acton, Illinois, USA. O'Farrell began her career as a session singer, before gaining notoriety as the first white member of Ike And Tina Turner's backing vocalists, the Ikettes. In 1967, having settled in Los Angeles, California, USA, she was singing duets with Sam The Soul when spotted by Delaney Bramlett, at that point a member of the Shindogs. The pair were married within seven days and embarked on a joint career as Delaney And Bonnie. Their 1969 release, Accept No Substitute, was greeted with critical acclaim, but within three years the couple had split both personally and professionally.
