Underoath
This Christian metalcore band was formed in 1998 by Dallas Taylor (vocals), Scott Nunn (drums), Corey Steger (guitar), Matthew Clark (bass) and Octavio Fernandez (guitar). The line-up underwent a series of changes over the next two years, with Aaron Gillespie (b. 18 July 1983, Clearwater, Florida, USA; drums/vocals), Chris Dudley (keyboards), Tim McTague (guitar) and Billy Notke (bass) joining Taylor and Fernandez. There was little subtlety involved in the band's first two albums, Act Of Depression (1999) and Cries Of The Past (2000), with Taylor's screeching vocal style the dominant sound in the mix. Dudley became increasingly influential in the evolution of the band's sound, which gradually developed from relatively straightforward death metal to a more sophisticated fusion of metalcore and electronica. Christian lyrical themes became increasingly apparent on the band's debut for the Solid State label, 2002's The Changing Of Times. This release also marked the recording debut of bass player Grant Brandell.

...? Have you listened to their oldest album where they say "I love you Jesus" at the end of the last song? I'd call that christian...and I don't really appreciate people that have to defend their points with mindless cursing...it doesn't make you seem very open minded...especially since you use the word faggot as an insult showing you have some issues with homophobia within yourself...

Fact: Christianity is a religion by definition. Some Christians prefer to call it a relationship (between a person and God/Jesus), but it is still a religion by definition. Now, can we please keep the comment sections free of religious debates please? I, for one, am on this site for music, not religious debates. Thank you. ^_^

...for one...christianity is a religion...and it's your personal belief that it's the only way to heaven and the reason you ominize it so much...Christianity is a religion whether you like it or not...and true Underoath are christian...so are Norma Jean, Zao, The Chariot, Showbread...but I'm not going to let a religion get in the way of enjoying the music...
