b. Kevin Brereton, 20 February 1972, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Adopting a moniker that is pronounced "chaos" and is an acronym for "Knowledge of Self", Brereton cites the influence of Michael Jackson, A Tribe Called Quest, the Beatles, the Roots and Stevie Wonder on his eclectic take on hip-hop that draws on soul, R&B, rock, roots reggae and flamenco. Tellingly, Brereton has compared his music making to his mother and father's religious door stepping: "My parents are Jehovah's Witnesses, so they go door-to-door with their messages", Brereton once explained to Black Beat magazine, "But for me, I've made a CD that has a chance to get into people's homes and I don't have to knock on doors."
