Edgar Froese
Although known primarily as the leader of Tangerine Dream, and as such, one of the key figures in the creation of the aesthetics of both Krautrock and New Age music, Edgar Froese has also had a breathtakingly prolific solo career, releasing albums under his own name since 1974. His main body of work has been a several-volume series called AMBIENT HIGHWAY, although he has also recorded several stand-alone works. Less song-oriented than his Tangerine Dream compositions, the music on Froese's solo albums tends more towards the pastoral, although drama and dynamics manage to sneak into everything the artist touches.
