Christine McVie
b. Christine Anne Perfect, 12 July 1943, Greenodd, Cumbria, England. Having begun her musical career playing bass in the Birmingham-based Shades Of Blue, Perfect joined two other ex-members, Andy Silvester and Stan Webb, in Chicken Shack, a blues unit signed to Mike Vernon's nascent Blue Horizon Records label. Between April 1967 and August 1969, she was featured on piano and vocals, and her impassioned reading of the Etta James classic, "I'd Rather Go Blind", became the band's best-known and most successful release.
