This south London, England-based blues rock group comprises Sam Windett (vocals/guitar), Dorian Hobday (bass) and Mark Cleveland (drums). Playing an upbeat brand of raw blues-tinged rock, the trio has enjoyed considerable critical acclaim and word-of-mouth accolades since their formation in Wiltshire. After relocating to London in search of success, the band was signed to Domino Records in 2003 after a performance in a local pub that was attended by the founder of the label, Lawrence Bell. With word of their intensively powerful live shows spreading, the band had attracted a sizeable fanbase by the time their debut, Fur, was released in July 2004. With its dirty blues guitar riffs and gravely vocals, the record possessed similarities to the Black Keys and the White Stripes, although the album fell somewhat short in terms of overall substance and variation.
