Poison The Well
Originally known as An Acre Lost, this US metalcore band was formed in 1997 in Miami, Florida by guitarist Ryan Primack and singer Aryeh Lehrer. A succession of musicians passed through the band in its early years, notably vocalist Duane Hosein, guitarist Derek Miller, drummer Chris Hornbrook and bass player Jeronimo Gomez. The band changed its name to Poison The Well after a 12-inch split with Promise No Tomorrow. The Poison The Well tracks from the single were subsequently re-released on the EP Distance Only Makes The Heart Grow Fonder. The first of several line-up changes ensued, with new members Jeffrey Moreira (b. 10 March 1981, Miami, Florida, USA; vocals) and Alan Landsman (bass) joining Primack and Miller on the band's album debut, The Opposite Of December " A Season Of Separation. Released in 1999 via the New Jersey-based independent label Trustkill, this frantic but resolutely melodic blast of extreme hardcore proved an immediate success on the burgeoning metalcore scene. The band attracted a devoted fanbase that plotted its every move and raised expectations absurdly high for future releases.
