Comprising Richard Evenlind (vocals/guitar), Danne Sj”din (guitar), Noah (bass) and Fredde Bergstr”m (drums), Swedish pop band Speedway formed in 1993 and almost immediately signed a contract with Cheiron Records. An unpretentious, uninhibited live band, they confirmed the promise of their club tours with the release of a debut single, "Red Hot Boogie", shortly thereafter. Earning comparisons to upbeat ENglish and American bands such as Slade and Southside Johnny And The Asbury Dukes, the debut album which followed also proved a domestic success. Before forming the band Evenlind had enjoyed significant success in different musical fields, working with Dr. Alban and Army Of Lovers. (NB: not to be confused with the later Scottish indie band of the same name).
