Tego Calderon
Tego Calderón stands as one of the foremost ambassadors of the Reggaetón genre. Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, Calderón was instilled with a love of salsa since birth and grew to embrace various musical genres including Jamaican dancehall, mambo, plena, and hip-hop. After various guest appearances, Tego signed to White Lion records and released his debut, EL ABAYARDE, in 2002. A virtual overnight sensation, EL ABAYARDE garnered acclaim for its elevated lyricism and was crucial in introducing Reggaetón to mainstream listeners. After the 2004 collection, EL ENEMY DE LOS GUASIBI (which included many of Tego's early guest spots), Calderón spread his wings further on EL SUBESTIMADO (2006), incorporating a wider variety of Afro-Carribean
