US punk pop band formed in 1999 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Kenny Vasoli (b. 20 May 1984, Churchville, Pennsylvania, USA; vocals/bass), Matt Watts (guitar), Mike Golla (guitar) and Tom Gryskewicz (drums). Originally going under the name Sunday Drive, the quartet completed a demo cassette and several split-releases before signing a contract with leading independent label Drive-Thru Records. Following a quick name change for legal reasons, the newly named the Starting Line released the EP With Hopes Of Starting Over " in summer 2001. The album, Say It Like You Mean It, which followed a year later, ironed out the rough edges of the EP and generated two minor radio hits, 'The Best Of Me" and "Leaving".
