Fannypack
This Brooklyn, New York, USA-based group are like a more lurid Spice Girls, with a fondness for rap rather than pop. Comprising female singers Jessibel Suthiwong (b. 1985, Brooklyn, New York, USA), Belinda Lovell, (b. 1987, Brooklyn, New York, USA), and Cat Martell (b. 1983, USA), two of its three members were still attending high school at the time of the group's formation in the early twenty-first century. Fannypack (named after a bag that is worn around the waist) caught the attention of producer "Big Black" Matt Goias (b. 1978) while the group was performing at a carnival in Brooklyn's Fulton Street Mall, with the only beats being provided by a man snapping belts (who also happened to be selling the item at the time). Soon second producer "Fancy" came aboard, and Fannypack signed a recording contract with Tommy Boy Records. The trio scored a huge US novelty hit in summer 2003 with the catchy and lewd single "Cameltoe", and followed it up with their debut, So Stylistic. Much of the same content was present on See You Next Tuesday which included the irresistible "Nu Nu (Yeah Yeah)".
