Having previously released two solo albums, 1999's Real Time Voyeur and 2001's The Last Legend, for the Kitty-Yo label, Berlin, Germany-based Raz Ohara (b. Patrick Rasmussen, Denmark) hooked up with Oliver Doerell aka the Odd Orchestra (aka Dictaphone) to forge an album that combined string ensembles, understated electronics and the prettiest of voices with results that were as unassuming as they were beautiful. In the context of labelmates such as Fuckpony and Booka Shade, the duo's self-titled 2007 debut for Get Physical Music (the imprint co-run by M.A.N.D.Y., Booka Shade and DJ T) was an oddity in that it reminded more of artists such as Sparklehorse, the Sea And Cake and At Swim Two Birds than the electro house illuminati with whom Ohara/Doerell shared a label. Nevertheless, some of the duo's creations were tweaked for the dancefloor. "Kisses' was notably remixed by Dial Records" Pantha Du Prince, recasting the fragile original as a mildly beefier but still subdued melodic house anthem.
