finetune artist: Marques Houston

b. Marques Barrett Houston, 4 August 1981, Los Angeles, California, USA. Vocalist Marques "Batman" Houston enjoyed a string of US hit singles during the mid-90s as a member of teen R&B vocal trio Immature. After a name change to IMx in the late 90s, which marked the trio reaching maturity, the hits began to dry up and the members began to concentrate on outside projects following the release of their self-titled 2001 album. Houston had already established an acting career during his time with Immature/IMx, most prominently with a regular role in the mid-90s television series Sister, Sister. He diversified into songwriting and production before making his solo debut in 2003 with MH. The album, which featured prominent contributions from R. Kelly and Jermaine Dupri, marked another step in distancing Houston from his teen pop days with a clutch of suggestive club tracks interspersed among the slow ballads. Naked, which followed in summer 2005, was a more stylish update on the musical format of his debut album. During this period Houston also landed roles in the movies You Got Served and Fat Albert, and starred in the television series Cuts.
