Hot Action Cop
One of several rap metal bands to emerge in the twenty-first century, the Nashville, Tennessee, USA-based Hot Action Cop comprises vocalist Rob Werthner (b. New York, USA; vocals), Tim Flaherty (guitar), Luis Espaillat (bass), and Kory Knipp (drums). Originally formed during the late 90s, and drawing on influences as diverse as Fishbone, Red Hot Chili Peppers and southern rap, the quartet played out locally for a solid two and a half years before signing a major label recording contract with Lava Records. Work on their debut album got underway during August 2002 in a variety of Nashville studios. The finished product, Hot Action Cop, was released in March 2003.
