JC Chasez
b. Joshua Scott Chasez, 8 August 1976, Washington, DC, USA. Fans of US pop stars *NSYNC were understandably growing restless after 2001's Celebrity, as the group took an extended hiatus. JC Chasez was the second member to launch a solo career and had a hard act to follow with the huge commercial success of Justin Timberlake's Justified. A veteran, like bandmates Timberlake and Joey Fatone, of the successful children's show The Mickey Mouse Club, Chasez began focusing on the writing and production aspect of making records on *NSYNC's follow-up, No Strings Attached (co-writing "Space Cowboy (Yippie-Yi-Yay)", "No Strings Attached" and "Digital Get Down"). He also worked with other recording artists, including Boyz-N-Girlz United and Wild Orchid. Chasez then turned his focus to working with electronica artists, appearing on albums by respected artists such as Basement Jaxx (Kish Kash) and BT (Emotional Technology), both in 2003. Around the same time, Chasez issued his first solo singles, "Blowin' Me Up (With Her Love)" and "Some Girls (Dance With Women)". His solo debut, Schizophrenic, followed in early 2004, with Basement Jaxx returning the favour by producing several of the album's tracks.
