David Bisbal
b. 5 June 1979, Almer¡a, Andaluc¡a, Spain. From childhood, Bisbal was intent on a career in music but went to work in the agricultural industry that is intensive in the part of Spain where he grew up. In his teens he joined the Orquesta Expresiones and this led to his being offered a chance to participate in the Spanish television show Operation Triumph. This programme is similar to the UK's Pop Idol and the USA's Protagonistas De La Musica. In the show 16 hopeful young singers were pitted against one another and at the end of the series, Bisbal was second overall, to Rosa, and he swiftly proved that his was a solid talent.
