Ann Nesby
b. Joliet, Illinois, USA. Despite the fact that Nesby launched a successful solo career in the late 90s singing R&B-style tunes, her roots lay in gospel music. Both of Nesby's parents were singers, but it was her mother who taught the youngster how to sing, leading to her debut at the Mount Zion Baptist Church at the age of three. Two years later, Nesby became the youngest president to be appointed of the church sunshine band, that later led to a part in a musical production of Sing Hallelujah. The show first premiered in Cincinnati, before moving to the Village Gate in New York City.
