b. 7 August 1965, Miami, Florida, USA. Malo's soaring Roy Orbison-styled vocals helped propel country rock group the Mavericks to international commercial success in the 90s. As chief songwriter Malo was also instrumental in shaping the group's inventive blend of styles, which by their commercial heyday of the late 90s was taking in country, Latin, jazz, pop and rock 'n' roll.
