Tim Deluxe
b. Tim Liken, London, England. DJ Tim Deluxe grew up in north London and in his early teens worked in a record store in Islington. He honed his mixing skills to such a high degree that he was employed as a stand-in DJ for C.J. Mackintosh at the Ministry Of Sound club in London, all before his eighteenth birthday. In 1994, Deluxe met a graphic designer, Omar Amidora, and Boogie Beat records owner Andy Lysandrou. The trio shared a love for dance music and set up Ice Cream Records. The label's most notable release was 1997's speed garage anthem "R.I.P. Groove" under Deluxe and Amidora's pseudonym Double 99. The duo subsequently released 7th High, featuring collaborations with Robert Miles, Black Grape, Sneaker Pimps and Byron Stingily.
