Christina Milian
b. Christine Flores, 26 September 1981, Jersey City, New Jersey, USA. Urban pop singer Milian was born to Cuban native parents in New Jersey and raised in Waldorf, Maryland. The child prodigy relocated to California to make her first foray into entertainment in the musical Annie Warbucks, thereafter landing a junior journalist position on the Disney Channel's The Movie Surfers. Further television and film work followed with appearances on the shows Charmed and Clueless, a voice over for Disney's A Bug's Life, and small roles in American Pie and The Wood. She made her music debut with a guest vocal on Ja Rule's "Between Me And You", the first single to be lifted from his 2000 album Rule 3:36. Writing credits for Jennifer Lopez ("Play") and P.Y.T. ("Same Ol' Same Ol'") followed before Milian released her self-titled Def Soul debut in October 2001. The album, the majority of which was co-written by Milian, included the hypnotic hit single "AM To PM" and the Ja Rule collaboration, "Get Away".
