Rob Dougan
b. Sydney, Australia. Perhaps best known for his epic, strings and breakbeats track, "Clubbed To Death", that first appeared in 1995, Dougan is a literate and talented composer and producer whose music spans several genres. After abandoning his studies at the prestigious National Institute of Dramatic Arts in Sydney, he relocated to London, England where he worked a number of odd jobs before "Clubbed To Death' made his name on the club scene. The enormous success of that track (that later received a revival when it appeared on the soundtrack of 1999"s blockbuster movie, The Matrix) led to remixes and production for artists including U2, Pet Shop Boys, Moby and Kylie Minogue. Initially Dougan worked with Rollo, the talented producer who formed Faithless. Together, they worked as a remix team, calling themselves Dignity or Our Tribe. When Rollo started his own label, Cheeky Records, the duo released their first single, "Understand This Groove", on it. They also recorded the club classic "Hold That Sucka Down" as the OT Quartet. Exploring the dance genre throughout the 90s, Dougan collaborated with Judge Jules, continued to work with Rollo, and gained remix and production credits in his own right. In 1994, Dougan produced "Feel What You Want" for a former Miss America, Kristine W. He also produced a number of tracks on her 1996 debut, Land Of The Living.
