Biosphere
Biosphere is the creation of former Bleep mainman Geir Jenssen (b. Tromso, Norway). Jenssen had originally played in Bel Canto, with friends Anneli Decker and Nils Johansen. Bleep's tally amounted to four 12-inch singles and a solitary album between 1989 and 1990. Three of those singles, "Sure Be Glad When You're Dead", "In Your System" and "A Bite Of AMC" (the video for which was directed by Norwegian film maker Casper Evenson, who subsequently became responsible for Biosphere's visuals), were included on Bleep's debut set, The North Pole By Submarine, released in 1990. The album was recorded after spending endless nights shuddering in a tent, listening to short-wave radio, while taking part in an archaeological expedition to the Arctic Circle. It was followed by "The Launchpad", bringing Bleep a UK club hit with their final release.
