A major player in the neo-soul armada that took both the pop and R&B worlds by storm in the late-1990s/early-2000s, Jill Scott got her start touring with the likes of Erykah Badu and the Roots. With a background in both poetry and musical theater, Scott came at the genre from a fresh perspective, and her 2000 debut album WHO IS JILL SCOTT? made her a household name. While she continued to display her musical gifts, she also went on to act in a feature film and release a book of her poetry, showing she hadn't disregarded her other talents.

Jill Scott is one of my favorites. I feel like if you want to have a playlist with more han 3 songs by her on it you should. I like jazz music best of all, then I like gosple, old soul, classic rock, ans some country music. By the way, I am also new to finetunes and I already ejoy this web site.

Jill Scott's droppin' her new album "The Real Thing" on sept 25! i cant wait... have ya'll heard her single "Hate on Me" - it's fire!!! i heard some of the album too... Jill's doin it in a major way. We gotta continue to support real, good music - buy the album on september 25th!!!
