Among the most unrelenting and popular exponents of hard techno, this UK unit's output on Warp Records represents everything an outsider might fear of the music: harsh, crashing, thumping. Along with NOW and the Forgemasters, LFO helped pioneer the sound that became known as "bleep". When forced to play their debut single "LFO" on UK Radio 1, veteran DJ Steve Wright described it as the worst record in the world.
