The Choir
Formed in 1965 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, the Choir were originally called the Mods, an obvious attempt to cash in on their allegiance to the then-popular British beat sound. When another local group proved ownership of the name Mods, they switched to the Choir. The group, consisting of Wally Bryson (b. 18 July 1949, Gastonia, North Carolina, USA; lead guitar), Dave Smalley (b. 10 July 1949, Oil City, Pennsylvania, USA; rhythm guitar), James Bonfanti (b. 17 December 1948, Windber, Pennsylvania, USA; drums) and bassist James Skeen, travelled to Chicago in 1967 to record their song "It's Cold Outside", which was released by the small Canadian-American Records. Gaining much airplay in the Midwest, the pop record was picked up by Roulette Records, which turned it into a US hit. The group recorded other singles for Roulette but none charted. By 1972 Bryson, Bonfanti and Smalley had combined with a new singer, Eric Carmen, to form the Raspberries, a successful 70s pop band.

In My Opinion, Deri Daugherty and The Choir, rank on a scale of 1 to 5 as a"10". Even his solo work and collaboration as a member with The Lost Dogs helps the listener to look deep into their own heart and reflect on the issues of their walk with the Lord, inviting them to draw near to our Lord in awe and worship of His Love for us.
