Kenny Larkin
b. Detroit, Michigan, USA. A popular DJ through his European travels, Larkin began his musical career in 1989 after having served two years in the US Airforce. Returning back home to his native Detroit, he discovered the underground techno scene by attending the Magic Institute and Shelter clubs. He subsequently met Plus 8 Records proprietors Richie Hawtin and John Aquiviva, for whose label he recorded his debut 12-inch, "We Shall Overcome", in 1990. A year later he returned with the Integration EP. He formed his own label, Art Of Dance, in June 1992, going on to record "War Of The Worlds", as Dark Comedy, on Art Of Dance in the US, and on Belgium label Buzz Records in Europe. He also provided the latter with the Serena X EP, under the guise of Yennek, and the Vanguard EP, as Pod. Larkin signed to the UK's Warp Records for his superb debut long-player, Azimuth, and to Belgium's R&S Records for his second album, Metaphor. He also finished work on his highly impressive 24-track digital recording studio. In 1997, Larkin released his debut long-player under the Dark Comedy moniker.
