Usually when the leader of a group issues a solo album, it is due to either a backlog of unused tunes or material that does not fit in with the band's expected sound. Red House Painters frontman Mark Kozelek's solo releases so far have not adhered to either of the aforementioned guidelines, as he has focused primarily on stripped down, singer-songwriter reworkings of Bon Scott-era AC/DC tracks.
