Sense Field
Although most of their albums were released via one of America's leading hardcore labels, Revelation Records, this Los Angeles, California-based quintet was more akin musically to emo outfits such as Sunny Day Real Estate and Jimmy Eat World. Originally formed in 1990 by Reason To Believe members Jon Bunch (vocals) and Chris Evenson (guitar), the two hardcore fans eventually let melody seep into their sound, as other members Rodney Sellars (guitar), John Stockberger (bass), and Scott McPherson (drums) were recruited. The original plan was to keep Reason To Believe running simultaneously with Sense Field (with the former sticking to hardcore, and the latter focusing on more melodic material), but after three releases were issued in the mid-90s Sense Field became Bunch and Evenson's main project.
