David Naughton
b. 13 February 1951, Hartford, Connecticut, USA. Naughton is best known for his 1979 US Top 5 hit "Makin' It'. After studying English literature and acting, Naughton appeared in a series of Dr. Pepper soda commercials, singing and dancing. He was then hired to act in the US television series Makin" It, based on the film Saturday Night Fever. Naughton recorded the title song from the film, and it scaled the charts. The television programme lasted only two months, however, and Naughton did not record again. His one hit was used that same year in a comedy film titled Meatballs.
