Jay Ferguson
b. John Ferguson, 10 May 1947, Burbank, California, USA. The former lead singer of seminal progressive rock band Spirit and hard rock quartet Jo Jo Gunne, Ferguson's debut album was well received but sold poorly. However, two years later the sparkling "Thunder Island" made the US Top 10. The accompanying album stands as his best work. His name often appeared as session singer on other albums amidst the occasional (and usually abortive) Spirit reunions.
