Chocolate Weasel
During the mid-90s Mark Royal worked with Cris Stevens on the dark, jazz-flavoured jungle of T-Power, before signing to Ninja Tune Records as Chocolate Weasel. After the sombre sounds of The Self-Evident Truth Of An Intuitive Mind and Waveform, Royal and Stevens wanted to move away, "because you can't take the piss with drum 'n' bass", and create more funky, hip-hop-influenced music. They released their first single, "Body Lockers", in 1998, followed by the album Spagettification the same year. Royal later returned to his T-Power alter ego.
