Franco DeVita
b. 23 January 1954, Caracas, Venezuela. De Vita's parents were Italian immigrants and during his early years he was raised in both countries. In Venezuela, from his early teens he studied piano before becoming a professional musician. He was busy writing songs and in 1982 he formed the band Icaro, with which he recorded a solitary album. His 1984 solo debut was successful and spawned the hit singles "Somos Tres", "No Hay Cielo" and "Un Buen Perdedor". The same thing happened with the follow-up Fantas¡a from which one track, "S¢lo Importas T£", became the theme of a popular television soap opera, La Dama De Rosa.
