Although his one hit, "My Pledge Of Love", can still be heard on American radio, Jeffrey and his group remain something of a mystery to music historians. Jeffrey is known to have emanated from the area of Buffalo, New York, USA and to have recorded both in Cleveland, Ohio and Memphis, Tennessee. His first single, the jaunty soul-dance number "My Pledge Of Love" was a dynamic, horn-laden piece that indicated its singer had much promise. It was released on Wand Records and reached number 14 in the US pop charts in the summer of 1969. An album, titled after the single, followed, but Jeffrey disappeared from the recording scene after his sole success.
